Applied Digital Labor

SleeveNotes Support

SleeveNotes plays your Apple Music with an AI DJ who talks between songs: stories about the music, and the weather, news and events near you if you turn them on.

Getting started

What do I need?

An iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later, and an Apple Music subscription. SleeveNotes plays music from Apple Music, so it can't play anything without one.

How do I sign up?

Open the app and follow the welcome steps: connect Apple Music, then Sign in with Apple. SleeveNotes is invite-only for now, so new accounts are asked for an invite code.

I don't have an invite code.

We're letting people in a few at a time while the service is new. Email info@applieddigitallabor.com to ask for one.

Using SleeveNotes

The DJ isn't talking.

The DJ speaks between some songs, not every one. Check that "DJ on" is switched on in Settings, and raise "How much the DJ talks". The DJ needs an internet connection; if it can't get its next line in time, the music simply carries on.

How do I change the DJ's voice or personality?

In Settings, choose a voice, a personality and a name. Changes apply from the next break.

How do weather, news and events work?

They're off until you turn them on in Settings. SleeveNotes then uses your town, worked out on your device, to find local weather, headlines and concerts. Your precise location is never sent.

What's the Ontology Explorer?

Tap Ontology Explorer on the Search tab and type any word: a mood, a place, an instrument, a year. You'll get a map of connected artists, albums and styles. Tap a bubble to follow it, then play it or make a playlist from it.

What appears when I turn my phone sideways?

On Now Playing, the space beside the album shows useless facts about the song, album or band, or, if you switch to Events, concerts near you by this artist or similar ones.

How do I stop SleeveNotes learning from my Apple Music library?

Turn off "Learn from my Apple Music" in Settings. The taste summary on our servers is deleted when you do.

Your account

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings › Account › Delete account. This removes your account and everything tied to it from our servers and disconnects Sign in with Apple. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account. If you no longer have the app, email info@applieddigitallabor.com and we'll delete it for you.

Where can I read about privacy?

See the SleeveNotes Privacy Policy.
